question: how do you know if you are a true minnesotan?

answer: when you can't help but get excited reading the forecast and finding out there is a 30F degree day coming up. also, when you walk out of your apartment in to below zero temperature weather with no wind, and you feel quite warm.

in the winter, especially in the dark and gloom of winter, i love sunny days. like this morning, although the temperature might have been bitterly cold, the sun was shining at full capacity. even now, the skies are blue splashed with your occasional cloud.

i think after 22 years of living in this state, i have finally become used to the cold. i mean, you go outside, and yes it is cold.. but it's winter.. in minnesota. duh it's cold. what i am trying to say is that i am not so shocked nowadays, when i walk outside, and it is cold.

oh! and the first 30F degree day in what seems like forever, will feel like an early birthday present from mother nature herself. possibly, you might see the occasional extreme minnesotan with shorts on! so with a predicted high of 33F degrees for tomorrow, put down your heavy, thick winter coats for the day, and enjoy the warmth!
